AIMS & OBJECTIVES

The general aim of the Nursing College Programme is to prepare the graduate to assume responsibilities in preventive, promotive and curative care of the people, sick or well and to act as professional nurses. They are prepared to assume first level positions in all areas of health and are expected to participate in teaching.

Course Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) is a four-year undergraduate professional degree program designed to prepare students as competent nurses and midwives. The course combines theoretical knowledge, laboratory training, simulation-based learning, and extensive clinical experience in hospitals and community settings. It aims to develop professional nurses capable of providing preventive, promotive, curative, rehabilitative, and palliative care to individuals, families, and communities.

Eligibility

Passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) with minimum 45% aggregate (40% for SC/ST). Minimum age 17 years at admission.

Course Overview

The Post Basic B.Sc Nursing is a 2-year undergraduate degree program designed for registered GNM nurses. Approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), it upgrades diploma-holding nurses to graduate level. The course strengthens knowledge in nursing research, management, education, community health, and advanced clinical skills. It bridges the gap between diploma and degree, making nurses eligible for higher studies and senior positions.

GNM – General Nursing & Midwifery (3.5-Year Programme)

Program Overview

General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) is a 3-year diploma program followed by 6 months of internship. It prepares students to work as qualified nurses in hospitals, clinics, and community health centers. The course focuses on patient care, clinical skills, midwifery, community health, and medical-surgical nursing. It is regulated by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).

Eligibility Criteria

Age: Minimum 17 years, maximum 35 years as on 31st December of admission year.

Qualification: 10+2 with English. Passed in any stream – Arts, Science or Commerce. Preference to Science students with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Minimum Marks: 40% aggregate in 10+2 for General Category and 35% for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

Medical Fitness: Candidate must be medically fit.

Gender: Both male and female candidates are eligible.
